January 2010: I am currently writing new cues for films and for a couple of libraries based in LA. In the Fall I have been touring in my region with a cabaret with my old friend Thomas Hochkofler. He is a pretty well-known actor of our area. We did about twenty shows and all of them were sold-out! We shall perform some more during the Springtime. I play piano and I am his partner on stage. The text was written by Alex Liegl. Gabi Rothmueller directed us through this crazy and surreal trip. Visit our website to know more about the next tourdates. Another very exciting projects was the recording of the two double harpsichord concerti by Wilhelm Friedeman Bach. It's great music, highly virtuosic and very neglected. My friend Claudio Astronio recorded all concerti and invited me to play in the double ones. If you want to know where Schumann and Brahms come from, listen to WFB! I am about to record new tunes with Jazzid 07 as acustic trio. I'll try to make them available online next month.
I added new orchestral cues and re-mixed old ones. Together with my colleague Norbert Rabanser I wrote the soundtrack to a film about the historical figure of Peter Mayr. It is produced by RAI and came up on TV in the Fall. Check out the Music section!
After the successful tour in Poland with the Bozen Baroque Orchestra (Leopold Mozart's Oratorio), we played two concerts in Torino and Bolzano (opening of my Early Music festival ANTIQUA) with one of the Baroque chant legend: Emma Kirkby. We had excellents reviews, and Emma sung beautifully. With the same group we also performed a program with the Handel's duets for two Sopranos (Gemma Bertagnolli and Susanne Ryden). We did a recording of the duets. I'll let you know when it's ready.
As artistic director of Antiqua
(Early Music Festival in Bolzano) I am glad to announce the great balance of the 2009 edition
called "1659-1809: Handel, Haydn, Purcell". This celebration which just finished on Aug. 21st has been a nice
excuse for musicians to explore the well-known and the obscure works of
these composers. We had as guests international acclaimed
artists (London baroque, Susanne Ryden, Emma Kirkby, Bernard Klapprott,
Accademia del Ricercare), young musicians (Artsemble, Joanna Klisowska,
Ensemble Polyhymnia) and the group in residence Bozen Baroque Orchestra
“Harmonices Mundi”.
